Definition and characteristics of rare earth permanent magnet materials

Rare earth permanent magnet materials belong to a new type of magnetic materials, which are mainly produced by powder metallurgy method and sintered by magnetic field. The material is actually an alloy material composed of a rare earth metal mixed with lanthanum and cerium and a transition metal such as cobalt or iron. At present, rare earth permanent magnet materials include two types of samarium cobalt (SmCo) permanent magnets and neodymium iron boron (NdFeB) permanent magnets.

 

The former's magnetic energy product is maintained between 15 and 30 MGOe, while the latter's magnetic energy product range is between 27 and 50 MGOe. It is called the "permanent magnet king" and belongs to the most magnetically rare rare earth permanent magnet found so far. material. Samarium-cobalt permanent magnets are usually used primarily for military technology.

 

In recent years, with the development of related industries, rare earth permanent magnet materials have received people's attention and achieved rapid development. Rare earth permanent magnet material is a kind of permanent magnet material with the highest comprehensive performance, which is more than 100 times higher than the magnetic properties of the previously used magnetic steel. It is much superior to ferrite and AlNiCo and is more expensive. The magnetic properties of platinum-cobalt alloys are also doubled.
